Our Behaviour Consultants provide person-centred service focusing on improving relationships, wellbeing, and healing from trauma. Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Behaviour Consultant plays a critical role in providing direct services and support to individuals within our MCCSS funded program, the Ontario Autism Program (OAPUR), and the Extensive Needs Service. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to meet the urgent and varied needs of clients. The Behaviour Consultant is responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with families and other service providers to ensure effective and comprehensive care. This role will work Wednesday – Saturdays (4 days) with flexible times required depending on client needs.

About The Role:
• Schedule to run Wednesday-Saturday weekly
• Provide 1:1 hands-on behavioural intervention and support to children and adults across various settings, including homes, community locations, and hospital environments.
• Maintain timely detailed and accurate documentation of client progress, interventions, and outcomes.
• Support functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify individual needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide supports and services through the Ontario Autism Program-Urgent Response (OAP-UR) and/or Core Clinical mechanism, working flexible hours to meet the needs of children and families.
• Implement evidence-based behavior support plans (BSPs) tailored to each client’s unique needs.
• Utilize a trauma informed/positive systems approach to support the implementation of the Behaviour Support plan, participate in regular meetings with the family/support staff, review or revise the plan in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor and measure the success in reaching the individuals goals.
• Provide on-site trauma informed behaviour consultation or workshops to service providers in the community, such as schools, group homes, and vocational/day program settings.
• Work with clients with extensive needs and complex behavioural profiles, providing intensive, individualized ABA interventions.
• Respond promptly to urgent cases within the OAP, providing immediate support and intervention.
• Provide training and support to families and caregivers on implementing behavior strategies and interventions at home. Monitor client progress through data collection, analysis, and ongoing assessment.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
• Assist in the development of training materials and resources for staff and families.

 What We’re Looking For:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a social science or human services field and/or 3-year college diploma in social science or human services field with 2 years clinical experience in a social service setting (that is deemed by Willowbridge as equivalent to a Bachelor degree).
• Experience with individuals with a developmental disability and a dual diagnosis.

• Knowledge and understanding of trauma and intergenerational trauma and its effects on attachment.
• Understanding of the service delivery system in the not-for-profit sector.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to handle multiple demands in manner that facilitates collaboration.
• Proficient competency with Microsoft Office and Client Database Applications.
