Foundry Ridge-Meadows is seeking a Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our integrated team offering services such as peer support, counselling, substance use support, employment supports, navigation of resources, primary care and opportunity to engage in a number of different social activities. The Registered Clinical Counsellor will bring their work experience with youth and young adults and provide client and family care within a trauma-informed approach. Foundry’s counselling framework is strengths-based within a Brief Solution Focused model for youth and their families. We provide a continuum of counselling services (initial screening, client assessment, treatment recommendations and plans) within our walk-in services at Foundry Ridge Meadows.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
• Master’s Degree in an applicable social or health sciences program such as Counselling Psychology.
• Three to five (3-5) years recent, related experience with youth in a mental health/substance use setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• The preferred candidate will also have experience with substance use challenges.
• Registered with relevant/applicable professional association.
Additional Requirements:
• Clear Criminal Record Check is required.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Valid and unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
• Position requires Union Membership.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Provide a continuum of counselling services (initial screening, client assessment, treatment recommendations and plans) within our walk-in services at Foundry Ridge Meadows.
• Ensure efficient and appropriate support the Counsellor will collaborate with the Clinical Lead and communicate effectively within the integrated care team with the additional support of utilizing an electronic records system.
• Experience in clinical assessments, risk assessments, various therapy modalities including Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) work and a Trauma Informed approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to engage and interact in a relevant manner as well as the ability to be open minded and non-judgmental within our diverse youth population.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a moving and innovative workplace.
Shift/Schedule/Hours per week: 30 hours regular part-time; day shift and some evening shifts.
Expected Start Date: ASAP
Wage/Salary: $44.54/hour
Grid Level: 16-P
