Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Hours of Work: Full-time paid position - June to August

Salary: $15/hour, 40 hours/week

Status: Contract Position ending August 22nd, 2025

Our Mission: Because of the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, Hope Mission exists to serve the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in search of help, healing, and hope.

Our Facility: We are located on 220 acres of rolling hills one hour west of Edmonton. We offer 6-day overnight camps for children and youth ages 6-17. Activities include archery, riflery, zipline, climbing wall, petting zoo, horsemanship, bike trails/pump track, laser tag, and wide games. All cabins have shower and bathroom facilities.

Job Summary: Assist the Head Cook with meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and serving campers in the main café as well as at various cooking sites throughout the camp. You will also provide support in other areas as needed by the Head Cook to ensure smooth operation and a positive camp experience.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• Ability to work long hours on your feet.
• Ability to work well as a team.
• Ability to communicate sufficiently.
• Participate in camp activities, including chapel, when time allows.
• Love for underprivileged kids.
• Enjoyment of the outdoors.

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
• Able to provide Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
• A letter of reference from a ministry or church is an asset.
• Adherence to Hope Mission's policies and procedures.

*Every returning staff member receives a $200/month raise. All staff that complete the full 7 weeks of camp and 2 weeks of training receive a $1000 bonus at the end of the summer.
