Ottawa Riverkeeper is seeking a Maternity Leave Replacement for our Donor Stewardship Coordinator

- Salary range: $56,000-59,800

What you will do
As Donor Stewardship Coordinator, you will serve as a key member of the Ottawa Riverkeeper fundraising team and will play a vital role in increasing our capacity to steward a growing community of donors.
- Work with the fundraising and communications teams to implement our annual fundraising plan with a focus on monthly giving, donor stewardship and donor retention including monitoring, tracking and evaluating various annual fundraising campaigns and stewardship efforts.
- Support the Director of Philanthropy on special events and campaign activities including coordination of meetings, drafting proposals, campaign materials and gift agreements; and donor stewardship.
- Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, donors, and partners.
- In collaboration with the Fundraising Team and Communications team, develop content for appeals, thank you letters, and other donor communications ensuring messaging is compelling and donor-centric.
- Strategically make use of Ottawa Riverkeeper’s CRM (Salesforce) to monitor and report on progress, and to provide results-oriented improvements to fundraising activities.
- Monitor policies, procedures, and standards for fundraising and donor relations, including privacy legislation, information management, and donor recognition helping to ensure the organization is compliant with all regulations.
- Work with the Database Coordinator to assist in sending tax receipts to all qualified donors and ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Support the execution of Ottawa Riverkeeper events as needed.
What you bring
You have a genuine interest in and support for our cause and a passion for environmental issues. For success in the role, you also have:
- 3 or more years of experience in annual giving, fundraising communications and direct-mail.
- Knowledge of fund development best practices and principles.
- A proven track record of donor-centric customer service excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written) including writing and editing solicitations and newsletter copy.
- Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends as required
Other valued skills:
- Bilingualism in English/French is an asset
- Proficiency with donor CRMs; Salesforce experience is an asset
