Join our team as a Lead Language Assessor and play a key role in supporting newcomers' language development! In this position, you'll work closely with the Language Assessment Program Manager to ensure accurate data entry, uphold assessment standards, and deliver exceptional service to clients. Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will oversee the delivery and coordination of language assessments for immigrants and refugees, ensuring compliance with Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Assessment (CLBPA) criteria. They will collaborate with the Program Manager to enhance services, manage waitlists, and implement outreach activities. Additionally, the role involves building community partnerships, ensuring data privacy, and preparing reports. The Lead Assessor will apply GBA+ principles and stay updated on best practices in multicultural competency and settlement services.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Linguistics, Social Sciences, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in program management, preferably in the non-profit or education sectors. They must have leadership experience and a Class 5 Driver’s License with access to a vehicle for travel.
Key skills include knowledge of language proficiency assessments, cultural sensitivity, and familiarity with Canadian Language Benchmarks and iCare. The candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities, along with a commitment to working in a dynamic, community-focused environment. Experience in ESL teaching, marketing, and public relations is a plus.
This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
