We’re looking for a Link Program Coordinator to lead our Link Housing Program, a critical initiative that prevents homelessness for young people aging out of care and at-risk young mothers. Through housing subsidies, rental support, eviction prevention, and life skills development, you will ensure youth have the opportunity to thrive.

What You’ll Do

🔹 Lead the Link Housing Program, ensuring youth receive housing support and case management.
🔹 Support and supervise a team providing rental assistance and eviction prevention services.
🔹 Oversee housing subsidies and funding from Reaching Home, BC Housing, and other partners.
🔹 Build strong relationships with landlords, funders, and community partners to expand housing options.
🔹 Ensure compliance with funding agreements and track program impact through reporting.
🔹 Develop and implement best practices to support youth in achieving long-term housing stability.

What You Bring

A post-secondary degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Psychology, Non-Profit Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2-3+ years of experience in program supervision, housing services, or youth support.
Knowledge of Housing First principles, BC Tenancy laws, and advocacy for marginalized youth.
Strong leadership, case management, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills.
A commitment to preventing homelessness through trauma-informed, youth-centered approaches.
Experience managing government-funded programs and ensuring compliance.

Bonus Skills (Assets, but not required)

Experience with Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, or Motivational Interviewing.
A valid BC driver’s license & access to a vehicle (preferred).
Understanding of data collection and reporting for funders.

Job Summary:  Reporting to the Director of Housing & Education Programs, the Program Coordinator leads the Link Housing Program, ensuring youth receive housing support and case management. The Link Program Coordinator supports and supervises a team providing rental assistance and eviction prevention services; oversees housing subsidies and funding from Reaching Home, BC Housing, and other partners. This position is responsible for building strong relationships with landlords, funders, and community partners to expand housing options; ensures compliance with funding agreements and track program impact through reporting. Develops and implement best practices to support youth in achieving long-term housing stability.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA):

  • Strong verbal and written communication, with stakeholder engagement skills (funder, landlord, partners, staff, and participants)
  • Understanding of leadership, team dynamics, strategic planning, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and cultural competence skills
  • Creative problem-solving and crisis management abilities; ability to work with a trauma-informed approach
  • Knowledge of Housing First principles, housing legislation, and BC Tenancy rules
  • Strong analytical, research, and data collection skills for reporting compliance
  • Adaptability in managing priorities; works well independently 
  • Strong planning, organizing, budgeting, and report writing skills; strong computer/technical tools 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Program & Case Management:

  • Oversee participant plans, referrals, and balanced staff caseloads for housing stability and transition from homelessness.
  • Manage Federal funding (Reaching Home) and BC Housing programs (HPP, CBCHB, SRSP), ensuring eligibility and support for youth transitioning from care.
  • Provide emergency crisis services and coordinate safety plans.
  • Ensure staff adherence to policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Facilitate weekly drop-in sessions and ensure participant follow-up is tracked.
  • Collaborate with residential coordinators for smooth program transitions.
  • Develop and enforce internal policies for compliance with funder requirements and best practices.

Personnel & Supervision:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members, providing coaching, development, and performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to align on objectives and updates.
  • Support staff during crises and ensure privacy procedures are followed.
  • Provides guidance to leadership team and updates Program Director on staffing needs.

Reporting/Fundraising:

  • Complete monthly reports and track rent subsidies and activity reports for funders.
  • Oversee and streamline evaluation processes to meet funder expectations.
  • Analyze data and assist with report writing, highlighting trends for funders.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Manage funding for Reaching Home, HPP, CBCHB, and SRSP programs.
  • Ensure accurate financial reconciliation with case management and finance teams.
  • Oversee program spending and ensure adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Track staff time and submit payroll summaries.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure safety protocols for home visits, drop-in services, and appointments.
  • Serve as a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.

Communication:

  • Chair and facilitate staff meetings; attends programming, funder, and staff development meetings.
  • Regularly communicate program events and updates to participants; ensure representation at BC Housing’s Coordinated Access Table and maintains confidentiality.

On Call:

  • Serve as On-Call Supervisor as scheduled.

Working Conditions

  • 🕒 Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (with occasional evenings/weekends as needed).
  • This position may require working occasional evenings and weekends and travel to various locations within Metro Vancouver.
  • Hours of work – 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours a day) generally Monday to Friday ; with the ability to be flexible as per business needs.
  • Works primarily in an office setting with the possibility of remote work if required.
  • On-call as scheduled on the on-call roster.
  • This position requires some lifting of heavier objects.
  • On-call rotation required.
