SENIOR QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

($92,145.79 - $106,699.96 Annually)

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Systems Development, the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer oversees all quality assurance (QA) activities for BC Housing’s business systems, including packaged applications and custom-built solutions. He/She/They provides guidance and supports to the IMT QA team, develops, implements and maintains QA processes and best practices within BC Housing’s System Development Life Cycle, and creates test strategies and test cases to ensure they are comprehensive and effective in achieving project objectives. The position also prepares reports, conducts regular audits, highlights key findings and ensures the early identification of issues throughout the development life cycle.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant field.
  • Considerable experience in creating and managing QA methodologies to provide quality assurance for enterprise-wide business systems, coordinating testers, creating test plans, writing comprehensive test cases, and building automated testing scripts.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 •Extensive knowledge of IT standards, system development life cycle, and IT development environments
•Extensive knowledge using MS DevOps and MS TFS for managing and executing test plans
•Strong knowledge of SQL and scripting
•Sound knowledge of Oracle technology including database and middleware
•Considerable knowledge of Microsoft’s Office365, SharePoint, and Azure Development
•Sound knowledge of hardware technologies (i.e. servers, workstations, networks and operating systems)
•Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, decision-making, organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to manage testing teams of staff and contractors and work cooperatively in a team environment.
•Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion
