The Role:

As a Policy & Practice Analyst at CLBC, you will support the Policy Manager's role in planning and implementing policy and program approaches that promote excellent service provision to individuals and families supported by CLBC. This includes:

  • analyzing practice to promote adaptations required
  • assisting in the development of policy, standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure quality service
  • providing and/or arranging for policy-related training
  • assisting in the development of materials and processes that support the section's key role in shaping direction and best practice
  • analyzing practice to promote adaptations required and provide/arrange for related training

You will work closely with the Manager of Policy in all aspects of CLBC's work, and liaise with field managers and staff and appropriate counterparts in other government organizations.

This is the role for you if you are able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. You are able to analyze compiled information to identify issues, prepare analytical reports, and present findings and recommend changes to policies. Knowledge of principles of community living, person-centred and responsive family practice, research methodologies, comparative analysis techniques and policy development processes are required.

Qualifications:

  • Human Services degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    2 years minimum demonstrated experience in social service delivery, preferably in community living
  • Experience with social policy development an asset
  • Expertise in CLBC programs, legislation and service delivery models
  • Experience in the areas of individualized community options (e.g. Home Sharing, Community Inclusion), individualized funding, and the operation of community supports and services and how they respond to the needs of individuals and families is preferred

  • Travel: Occasional travel for meetings. Overnight travel may be required.
