Family Services of Central Alberta is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Manager of Family and Seniors Supports. As a crucial member of our leadership team, you will be entrusted with overseeing and coordinating our Family and Senior programs. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery and development of high-quality services to our community, with a strong focus on best practices, evidence-based approaches, and the overall well-being of vulnerable children, families & seniors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Oversee and coordinate the Family and Senior programming, ensuring its alignment with organizational goals and objectives. These programs includes our Home Support for seniors, Children’s Anxiety programs, parenting classes and family interactive play programs.

Lead a team of dedicated professionals to deliver effective and compassionate services.

Implement and promote best practices, evidence-based approaches, and a strength-based model in supporting families and seniors.

Provide reflective supervision to staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Stay informed about key issues and trends impacting families, seniors and communities, integrating this knowledge into program development and service delivery.

Collaborate with community partners to enhance services and address the diverse needs of our clientele.

Maintain a commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in all aspects of service provision.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in social services, early learning, senior care, education or other human services field; equivalencies will be considered.
  • Experience working with children, families, parents and seniors.
  • Minimum of three years in supervising a team.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in providing human support services to diverse communities and families in culturally sensitive ways.
  • An understanding of key issues and trends that impact families, seniors and communities.
  • Commitment to life-long learning.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Intervention checks.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
