The Refugee Centre is dedicated to providing essential support services to refugees and asylum seekers in Montreal. Our Transitional Housing Program aims to offer temporary, stable housing while connecting residents with resources to help them achieve long-term stability.
The Transitional Housing Manager will oversee the operations of the Transitional Housing Program, ensuring that all residents receive appropriate support through a team of caseworkers. The Manager will be responsible for program administration, staff supervision, and ensuring that the housing units meet high standards of safety and livability. This role requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of housing services, and a deep commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transitional Housing Program.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Monitor program outcomes and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain compliance with relevant housing regulations and funding requirements.
Identify opportunities for program improvements and advocate for necessary resources.
Manage and support a team of Transitional Housing Caseworkers.
Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality case management.
Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss challenges, best practices, and case updates.
Ensure caseworkers adhere to program policies and provide client-centered support.
Ensure that all residents have access to appropriate support services.
Develop and oversee case management strategies to promote resident stability and independence.
Address conflicts and crises within the housing units, providing guidance to staff on intervention strategies.
Liaise with external service providers to enhance support networks for residents.
Oversee the condition and safety of housing units, coordinating with landlords or maintenance teams for repairs and upkeep.
Work with caseworkers and housing team to ensure a smooth transition process for residents entering and exiting the program.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Housing Management, or a related field OR relevant certification or experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in housing services, social services, or case management, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role ideally
Experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or marginalized communities is an asset.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Knowledge of Montreal’s housing landscape, tenant rights, and social service networks.
Bilingual (French and English)
