e4c is hiring a Program Coordinator (1 year maternity leave coverage) to coordinate and deliver school-based programs for children and youth including:
- The School Nutrition Program – that provides nutritious food each school day to thousands of children and youth in socially vulnerable schools.
- Out of School Time Programming (including Young Chefs) – that provides free out-of-school time programs for children and youth that help them develop fundamental life skills.
You will be responsible for the coordination, administration, on-going support, and delivery of the e4c’s school-based programs. A key part of this work is developing strong working relationships with school staff, students, partners, and frontline program staff while ensuring program goals and outcomes are achieved.
Hours: Monday to Friday for 40 hours per week requiring use of a personal vehicle and travel around Edmonton.
Salary: $26.00/hour

In Your Role You Will
- Deliver Young Chefs and School Nutrition Programs to school-age children.
- Supervise and coordinate Nutrition Support Workers and program volunteers.
- Support program staff in program delivery, adherence to the Alberta Nutritional Guidelines for Children and Youth and safe food handling practices.
- Create nutritious, culturally appropriate, and fiscally sustainable menus.
- Work with schools and staff to coordinate School Nutrition Programs and OST program registrations and referrals.
- Develop educational resources and programming for children.
- Maintain program manuals, handbooks, materials, and resources.
- Conduct budgeting, statistics, and reporting related activities for each program.
- Prepare and submit monthly debit and credit card reconciliations.
- Processing invoices, expenses, and bi-weekly payroll.
- Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of frontline staff.
- Facilitate communication and foster relationships with e4c team members, school staff, parents, students, and community partners.
Education and Certifications
Required
- Post-secondary education in Sociology, Political Science, Education, Child and Youth Care, Nutrition, Food Science, Community Development or other related fields.
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Intervention Record Check.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, Vehicle Insurance ($2 million liability), clean drivers abstract, and Registration.
Recommended
- AHS Food Handler Certification.
- First Aid/CPR.
- Trauma Informed or Harm Reduction experience/training considered an asset.
- Mental Health First Aid is considered an asset.

- You have worked in a leadership role and excel at coaching and mentoring.
- You are confident navigating various computer applications.
- You are knowledgeable about food service and/or food service management.
- You are able to work independently and in a team setting.
