Society of Sharing (SOS) is a non-profit organization that provides free services to isolated, lonely and frail seniors. All of our programs are designed to reduce social isolation, promote social connection, and improve the well-being of housebound clients.
We are searching for a full-time Program Coordinator to manage the needs of clients referred to the agency, assess and identify the right program for the clients with the available volunteers. The incumbent will also assist the Executive Director with timely statistical reports, management of volunteers and the organization of volunteer events. This position reports to the Executive Director and will be based in Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities:
Clients Intake, Assessment and Re-assessments
Obtain client referral information from social services agencies to collect background information on clients, such as medical/physical condition and emotional/mental health issues
Determine clients’ suitability to agency programs and referring clients to other agencies if appropriate
Work closely with the various referring agencies in identifying individuals that require agency services
Visit clients’ homes to assess their physical and mental state, and their environment and overall needs, to determine the kind of services they may require
Re-assess client needs to ensure that our services are still meeting their requirements, i.e., home visits, telephone inquiries and annual client surveys
Program Coordination
Match prospective volunteers with available opportunities
Maintain resources materials necessary for the effective delivery of service; keep stock of program supplies and maintain an accurate record of expenditures
Positively and professionally represent the agency in the community by collaborating with community partners on various projects and initiatives as requested or required
Conduct program evaluations to improve programs
Volunteer/Client Support
Work closely with the Recruitment and Training Specialist in recruiting and maintaining an appropriate number of volunteers for the programs; developing volunteer training materials
Ensure volunteers have adequate supervision to fulfill their roles and assignments
Ensure volunteers receive feedback regarding their performance, maintain volunteer/client files and monitor volunteer/client satisfaction
Resolve day-to-day volunteer and client concerns and appropriate provide information
Organize monthly volunteer meetings, and provide volunteer development resources and opportunities
Organize Volunteer appreciation Events, Christmas Gift Program, and cluster care, as required
Maintain volunteer and client files
Other
Provide accurate client and volunteer information reports, client/volunteer statistics and a subsequent monthly report for the executive director
Actively promote and participate in fundraising activities, as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in social services, geriatrics or gerontology or related medical field
2-5 years of experience working with or around seniors and/or persons with disability
Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector is preferred
Knowledge of social services community resources
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and strong computer skills
Strong written and oral English communication skills; additional languages are considered an asset
Ability to travel, as required

Compensation:$24.00-$25.00 per hour
Hours:35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime is required
