Position title: Intake Support 

Job type: Permanent, part-time

Reporting to: Manager of Supportive Recovery

We open doors for youth and prevent adult homelessness. We serve at-risk youth experiencing homelessness, aging out of care, or fleeing violence in the home. Young adults who need a place to call home and people who believe in them. We offer safe housing, community, and support to help youth make healthy choices and shift toward a brighter future.
About the position:

The Intake Support provides support to the youth applying to Threshold Housing Society. As the first point of contact, you are an exceptional relationship builder that has a proven track record of connecting, collaborating, and working effectively with at-risk youth. You will guide the youth through the process from referral up until they are offered placement.

This position is part-time, 22.5 hours per week, based on a schedule that is approved by the supervisor. The hourly wage is $24.49-$29.44 per hour dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range.

Education and Experience 

  • A passion for working with and supporting at-risk youth
  • A patient, flexible, and creative mindset
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth, ideally in the housing and support service sector
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education, experience and/or training
  • Knowledge and understanding of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • An understanding of drug and alcohol addiction, mental health and behavioural issues

Working Conditions 

  • Threshold will provide a yearly training and professional development allowance
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a wraparound care team

Special Requirements 

  • Emergency First Aid certificate
  • Immunization records, including TB testing and COVID 19 Vaccinations
  • Clear MCFD Criminal Record Check
  • Agree and follow our policies and processes
