Your Role: As the Manager of Data Governance, you will:

  • Support the execution of our Data Strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Develop a comprehensive Data Governance Framework to enhance data quality and integrity
  • Oversee a team integrating governance tools and improving enterprise-wide data use
  • Enable strategic decision-making and foster a culture of data excellence

MANAGER, DATA GOVERNANCE:

$96,964 - $114,075 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Research Analytics and Reporting, the Manager, Data Governance is responsible for managing the corporate data management, utilization, and governance. He/She/They plans and manages data governance initiatives, supports branches with their data requirements, and ensures proper management of data assets. The position also establishes best practices to enhance data maturity and knowledge across the Commission, developing and implementing data programs that align with strategic goals in planning, operations, and service delivery.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer sciences, or other fields.
  • Considerable experience in a leadership role overseeing data transformations, within data management, analytics, or business intelligence.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the Employer.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Considerable knowledge of the data management disciplines associated with the Data Management Body of Knowledge, including data architecture, modeling, integration, governance, compliance, and advanced analytics techniques
  • Considerable knowledge of applicable statutory requirements, policies, and procedures relevant to the area of work.
  • Ability to learn and understand BC Housing strategic direction, policies and programs.
  • Ability to shape and manage data transformation programs, maintain effective relationships with partners and stakeholders, and work with senior leadership to drive strategic change.
  • Ability to establish rapport with management, staff and external contacts, including government and housing sector representatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and projects, coordinate work with others and keep senior management informed on key issues.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, with ability to adjust work plans accordingly.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide, coach and motivate staff in a team setting.
  • Strong analytical skills to conceptualize, solve complex issues, exercise sound judgment and make effective recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, presentation, leadership, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Criminal Record Check(Tier 1) Required
