Position Overview:

The Manager of Scheduling and Causal Staff is responsible for overseeing staff scheduling and managing a pool of casual employees for a housing nonprofit. This role ensures 24/7 staff coverage, coordinates recruitment and training of casual staff, and optimizes workforce planning to meet operational needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.

This position is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week). Primarily Monday to Friday, with daytime and afternoon shifts. The salary range for this position is $69,498 to $80,555 per year dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range.

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or a related field; or
  •  Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, Operations, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in scheduling, workforce planning, or staff coordination in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Experience managing casual or temporary staff in a nonprofit or service-oriented setting.

Working Conditions 

  • Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday, with daytime and afternoon shifts. 
  • Occasional weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
  • Some travel may be required to attend events, conferences, and meetings.

Special Requirements

  • Criminal record check prior to employment, and subject to regular review.
  •  A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required.
  • Up-to-date membership in relevant professional associations or societies.
  • Double vaccination as required in the Supportive Recovery Program.
