Teen Haven is a rehabilitation centre serving Anglophone youth ages 12-18 years old.

Recreational/Resource Leader (35hours/week for 8 weeks)

A student will work alongside other educators with youth in care to be a role model and mentor.  Will assist in the summer recreational program helping youth to develop a variety of skills and be active throughout the summer months.  This person will help build self-esteem, and life skills and help youth problem-solve.  They will embrace cultures and focus on adding elements from a variety of ethnicities to educate youth.  Typically, Monday to Friday, day-program with flexibility depending on activities.

Requirements according to Canada Summer Jobs:

(a) is between 19 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

(b) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;

(c) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations 

(d) cannot be an immediate family member to a Teen Haven employee

(e) must be fluent in English.  Other languages an asset.

(f) must be dually vaccinated against Covid-19.

*Foreign students/or students with a work visa are not eligible.
