Reporting to the Executive Director - People, Culture, and Learning, the chosen candidate will be tasked with creating and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies across various channels. This role involves developing and implementing plans, programs, and deliverables for diverse portfolios, campaigns, and significant projects while executing on our strategic vision of our brand as an organization the builds community and inspires hope. Responsibilities for this position includes but is not limited to: crafting creative marketing materials, corporate reports, memos, speaking notes, presentations, content, and other written materials for both online and offline platforms. Additionally, the Communications and Marketing Specialist will offer strategic communications advice and support to internal stakeholders on designated programs, corporate campaigns, and initiatives. This encompasses crafting key messages, fact sheets, and talking points to support issues management efforts.

Qualifications

This role demands an experienced communications and marketing professional who can demonstrate creativity and innovation, leveraging a deep understanding of diverse distribution channels to meet varied needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing abilities and excel in cultivating effective relationships with key stakeholders and vendors. They must stay abreast of evolving marketing and communications practices and exhibit proficiency in MS Office programs as well as the Adobe suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

Our ideal candidate should possess a Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field with advanced level desktop publishing, graphic design and website maintenance courses, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven communications experience in a not-for-profit, healthcare, or social services environment would be a bonus!

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
