About Us:
Centre to Empower All Survivors of Exploitation (CEASE) & Trafficking is an Edmonton-based charity committed to empowering survivors of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. We support individuals in rebuilding their lives through one-to-one support in the community, victim assistance through the courts, paying for fees to go back to school, and financial management. We work in cooperation with community, government, and law enforcement to help sexually exploited and trafficked persons heal and renew their lives.
About the Role:
The Outreach Worker and Education Advocate is a dual role, spending 3 days/week supporting participants and engaging with the community and 2 days/week raising awareness about sexual exploitation, human trafficking, sextortion, and relations issues within the community. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:
Participant Support:
- Screen and complete intake process for all participants
- Build trust and develop service plans with participants
- Develop and maintain collaboration with CEASE programs and community partners to enhance service provision
- Provide referrals, information, and recommendations about internal programs and external service providers
- Request for service/follow-up support with participants may include: housing inquiries, government benefits, transportation, housing intakes, home visits, support at appointments, access to identification, crisis management, advocacy, emotional support, and help with applications and taxes
- Maintain accurate and detailed case notes, statistics, and write reports per funder requirements & special projects
- Enter statistics and notes into a database on a monthly basis
- Attend all scheduled team, network, training and community meetings as required
- Consultation with the Manager on program
- Other duties may be assigned as required
Community Engagement and Outreach:
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, schools, and organizations to foster collaboration.
- Represent the organization at community events, forums, and coalitions.
- Design and implement outreach initiatives to increase community awareness and engagement.
Workshop Facilitation:
- Develop and deliver dynamic workshops for various audiences, including schools, businesses, and community groups.
- Tailor content to meet the needs of specific audiences and incorporate interactive and trauma-informed approaches.
- Evaluate workshop effectiveness and integrate feedback to improve programming.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education in Human Services. Non-academic-related experience will be considered
- Experience working with individuals who are sexually exploited or at risk for sexual exploitation
- Experience working with people requiring higher levels of support due to trauma, substance use, complex health issues, and poverty
- Experience in public speaking, workshop facilitation, or education
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office, Gmail, Canva,and databases
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent listening, writing, and oral communication skills
- Working from a trauma-informed lens
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
Hourly Wage: $25-$30/hour, depending on qualifications
