CWLP requires an experienced accounting resource to take over our office operations. This important and valued position includes a combination of bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for all operations of the Centre. The position works with staff and the General Manager on a daily basis and formally reports to the Treasurer. The CWLP is a multi functional, bilingual non-profit cooperative that is responsible for all arts, cultural and recreation activities that take place at the community centre in Wakefield (except the library) and for after hours recreational activities in the Wakefield School gym. Some of these include rentals, events, recreational and cultural programming, and children’s camps. The Centre has approximately $400k in revenues and expenses annually including grants, a small team of employees and is in the process of hiring a general manager who will report to the Board of Directors.

• Amilia (we are in the process of transitioning to Amilia, so knowledge of this software would be a great benefit);
• Ceridian / Day Force: payroll
• Square, Wild Apricot, Clover
DUTIES INCLUDE MANAGEMENT OF THE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING FOR THE NON-PROFIT COOPERATIVE INCLUDING:
• Maintain all accounting using QuickBooks Online
• Managing accounts including banking, accounts receivable and payables, revenue and expenses, payroll (Ceridian/Day Force), deferred revenue, grant reporting
• Maintaining GST and QST accounts
• Preparing documentation for year end external review
• Tracking project revenues and expenses
• Supporting ongoing budgeting and cash flow analysis
• Integrating information from the Operations systems (Amilia, Square and Clover) to QuickBooks
• Providing support to the General Manager, Treasurer and the Board as requested
• Assisting the Treasurer in regular reports/ presentations to the Board
IN ADDITION TO THE REQUIREMENTS PREVIOUSLY LISTED, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST:
• Have a certificate or diploma in accounting or business administration from a recognized post-secondary institution, or equivalent training
• Have at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Be able to work effectively as a member of the operating team, assisting staff on financial matters, as required
• Be able to identify opportunities for process and system improvements
• Approximately 15-20 hours per week
• Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Consideration will be given to either a contractual or employment arrangement
• Bilingual candidates will be given preference
