The Port Moody Arts Centre Society is a not-for-profit community arts organization located in the City of the Arts. The Role: Customer Service Representative
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for the arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate has prior customer service experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by warmly engaging with patrons in person, over the phone, and through email correspondence.
  • Accurately convey comprehensive information regarding PoMoArts' programs, activities, current gallery exhibitions, and offerings, while also clearly communicating organizational policies and responding to general inquiries.
  • Process all booking-related tasks, including new registrations and billing, utilizing the XplorRec online system.
  • Handle sales transactions for classes, gallery items, and event tickets, efficiently processing payments via point-of-sale devices and managing cash transactions.
  • Conduct daily financial reconciliation tasks, including basic cash balancing and float
    management
  • Execute facility opening and/or closing procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Ensure the reception and front entrance areas are consistently neat, orderly, and welcoming.
  • Support instructors with administrative needs such as timesheets, key distribution, and relaying important messages.
  • Be prepared to administer First Aid when necessary, holding current certification.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven ability to accurately handle participant registrations, process bookings, manage scheduling, and effectively utilize online registration systems (experience preferred). This includes experience with cash handling, processing credit/debit transactions, and operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Exceptional active listening, written, and verbal communication abilities in English with a passion for helping people and delivering outstanding customer service experiences
  • The ability to remain calm and professional while effectively resolving customer inquiries or complaints, even in challenging situations, and comfortably interacting with participants of all ages, social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Strong organization and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, troubleshoot issues, and find effective solutions
  • Ability to quickly acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of PoMoArts's programs, events, memberships, and facility information to effectively assist visitors and callers.
  • Collaborates effectively in a team environment while also being capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to successfully pass a Police Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Assets:

  • Working knowledge of a second language.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Familiarity with online registration systems, specifically XplorRec.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (OFA level 1 or equivalent).
  • Prior experience in a front-facing customer service role, preferably within a community center, or arts-related environment.
  • An interest in and appreciation for the arts.
