JOB POSTING
Art Camp Education Assistants
ABOUT PLACE DES ARTS
Founded in 1972, Place des Arts (PdA) is a not-for-profit arts education centre with a mission to
inspire the artist in everyone. Located in Coquitlam, we offer quality instruction for all ages and
skill levels in the visual, literary and performing arts. Our Artisan Shop and galleries support local
emerging artists, and our events and performances make Place des Arts a cultural hub, drawing
together diverse members of the community to experience the arts.
ABOUT FLYING COLOURS
Place des Arts is seeking Art Camp Education Assistants to supervise and support our campers for our
upcoming Flying Colours camp. The Flying Colours camp provides a unique art camp experience for up
to ten children aged 7 to 11 with developmental and/or physical disabilities. As the only multidisciplinary
arts summer camp of its kind in Coquitlam, Flying Colours offers young individuals an opportunity to
explore their creativity through various visual arts activities. Guided by professional artists, educators
and education assistants, participants engage in projects that not only allowed for artistic expression but
also helped improve fine motor skills, boost self-efficacy and foster social development. This inclusive
approach, reinforced by a thoughtfully balanced student-to-support ratio, ensures that every child can
actively participate and thrive in the camp environment. If you’re a dedicated, empathetic and qualified
professional, we want to hear from you!
This is a one‐week contract requiring the candidates to be on-site at Place des Arts from August 18-22
