About the position:
McMan’s Specialized Supports for Independence Program is seeking to recruit a skilled Program Supervisor.
The Specialized Supports for Independence program provides 24-hour in home staffing supports to adults with disabilities who have complex support needs due to history of homelessness, mental health disorders and dual-diagnosis. The program includes two homes with three residents in each home.
This position will be responsible for supporting a staff team of eight full-time community resource workers, relief staff and supervising case management for three residents in one of two homes.

This is a temporary role ending on May 8, 2026.
Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM, until 4:30 PM, averaging 40 hours per week.
Location: Edmonton, Alberta.
What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Supervisor will oversee specific operational and service delivery components as related to the individuals and staff within the program. They will ensure the delivery of quality services and overall care; safety and needs of the individuals are being met. This position will assist adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, FASD, and individuals with dual diagnoses and complex behaviours. The individuals require support to foster community relationships, daily living skills and decision making using a best practice approach and a harm reduction philosophy.
This individual will ensure that the programs fully meet the needs of individuals, their support network and program funder, while maintaining McMan’s values, policies, accreditation standards and fiscal integrity.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the program, monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, adjust in consultation with the Program Manager as needed.
• Participate in administrative operations as a part of the supervisory team
• Responsible for overall case management, providing supervision of Front-Line staff.
• Ensure all case management practices comply with program requirements and standards.
• Conduct regular meetings with employees for supervision, case consultation, and support.
• Provide performance leadership, coaching, and mentoring to enhance employees' skills and professional development.
• Attend and actively participate in all required meetings.
• The ability to implement approved harm reduction techniques
• Engage in regular supervision sessions with the Program Manager as per policy.
• Manage records and information and prepare accurate and timely reports.
• Manage staff schedules, approving time off, time-entry approvals, finding shift coverage Manage expenses and purchasing for household expenses and supported individuals personal spending
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What you bring:
• A post-secondary degree or diploma in human services or a related discipline.
• Five (5) years of directly related experience in Human Services, plus three (3) years of supervisory experience. Equivalencies may be considered.
• Satisfactory security checks including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months)
• Emergency First Aid with CPR-Level C + AED
• A Class 5 driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and third-party liability insurance (minimum $2 million) is required.
• Comfort with driving to various locations as required.
• Experience working with individuals who have experienced being unhoused, significant mental health diagnoses and addictions
• Strong computer/word processing skills
• Good critical thinking skills and the ability to lead independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional leadership, organizational and time management skills
• Desire to see individuals succeed
