About the Role

The Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the social media activities of the organization. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing the agency’s social media and digital presence, creating engaging content, and tracking performance metrics to optimize our online presence. The Coordinator is an integral member of the Community Relations Team and works collaboratively with the team to grow our brand and connect with our audiences.

This is a part-time position, working 15-20 hours per week (depending on the agency’s needs and the employee’s availability).

What you will do

Social Media Management

  • Manage social media accounts across all SafeLink Alberta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media channels.
  • Create high quality content, including videos, images, text, and graphics.
  • Collaborate with the internal creative collaborators’ working group to produce visually appealing, relevant, and shareable content.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) initiatives, actively participate in these efforts within the organization, and promote an inclusive environment for all individuals.
  • Schedule and publish posts, monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and build a community of online supporters for our campaigns and fundraising activities.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns to reach target demographics and boost engagement.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Assist in monitoring internal activities, community events and external medial channels for information relevant to the organization.
  • Foster and nurture online communities by actively engaging with followers, fans, and consumers.
  • Monitor online reviews and feedback, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends and best practices to ensure maximum reach and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain an active social media monthly calendar.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics, including reach, engagement, conversion rates, and ROI.
  • Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights to achieve marketing goals.
  • Ad-hoc duties and projects as required.

What you will bring

  • Post secondary education in Digital Marketing, Social Media, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field is an asset.
  • Proven experience in managing social media platforms for a brand or organization; non-profit experience preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an emphasis on creating engaging content.
  • A self-starter with the ability to multi-task and maintain organized records.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Proficiency in social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Google Analytics).
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital advertising platforms (e.g. Meta Ads, Google Ads).
  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Microsoft Office) are an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess foundational knowledge on IDEA principles in line with SafeLink Alberta’s values.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, and substance use is an asset.
  • Provision of a criminal record check with vulnerable sector search is required. A positive criminal record check will not necessarily preclude a candidate from being hired - decisions will be made on an individual basis and all information will be kept confidential.

What We Offer

The wage range for this position is $25 - 30/hour based on education and experience.
