Job Title: Multimedia Content Specialist

Reports to: Manager, Donor Relations

Hours of Work: Full-time

Job Summary: The Multimedia Content Specialist is a vital support role within the Donor Relations team, responsible for capturing and sharing the powerful stories of transformation and hope that occur daily at Hope Mission. The storytelling component of this role could be described as a “Hope Stories Reporter”. This individual will use their creative and technical skills in interviewing, videography, graphic design, writing, and photography to produce compelling content that illustrates the impact of donor support and inspires continued generosity. The ideal candidate is a compassionate storyteller, a versatile content creator, and is passionate about sharing the hope-filled stories of those we serve.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, capture, edit, and produce at least one compelling client interview story each week. This includes conducting interviews with sensitivity and respect, creating related photo, video, audio and written digital assets, and crafting narratives that accurately and powerfully convey individual journeys.
  • Design and create a variety of marketing and stewardship materials for the Donor Relations team, such as cases for support, thank you cards, impact reports, newsletters, social media content, event materials, and other materials as needed.
  • Developing and maintaining story-based devotional content for donors.
  • Undertake graphic design, video production/editing, and audio (e.g., radio) projects as needed to support fundraising campaigns, awareness initiatives, and internal communication efforts.
  • Maintain an organized library of digital assets (photos, videos, stories).
  • Vision, produce, and manage longer-term video projects as approved by management. Possibilities include documenting a client's recovery journey over time or developing video content for church small group curriculum or community engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with the Donor Relations team and other Hope Mission staff to identify storytelling opportunities and content needs.
  • Manage digital assets, maintain organized digital library.
  • Draft press releases and manage media contact list.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the creative and communication needs of the mission.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Full Class 5 Alberta driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract and 5 years accident-free driving record.
  • Clean criminal record check, including vulnerable sector check and child welfare check is required.
  • First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training is an asset, but is provided if needed.
  • High level of care and compassion for marginalized and underprivileged people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Competencies:

  • Proven experience in content creation, including storytelling, interviewing, writing, photography, videography (shooting and editing), and graphic design. A portfolio showcasing these skills is required.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software for video editing, graphic design, and audio editing.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Post-secondary education in Journalism, Communications, Film Production, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or ministry setting is an asset.

Other Requirements:

  • Being a Christian Organization we require our employees to be in agreement and sign the Hope Mission Statement of Faith.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
  • Able to provide Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • A letter of reference from a ministry or church is an asset
  • Adherence to Hope Mission’s Policies and Procedures.
