Position Summary: As part of the Community Justice Program (CJP) team the Justice Program Coordinator will support the CJP’s access to justice work by providing administrative support, outreach and coordination with community organizations across Ontario, collect and evaluate data, and perform other duties as assigned.  The position reports to the Legal Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Upholds the mission, values, vision and goals of METRAC
  • Provides administrative support to the CJP
  • Supports the work of the Legal Director and Program/Project Lawyer
  • Monitors and facilitates requests for Community Justice Program Public Legal Education and Information (PLEI) workshops
  • Assists with planning, preparing and implementing events and programs (online and in-person)
  • Drives the CJP’s social media presence
  • Ensures the development of connections with community members and organizations across Ontario to promote participation in the Community Justice Program, and relevant projects
  • Maintains a data system for tracking program activities (evaluations, statistics, etc.) for reporting purposes and reviews and analyzes data
  • Designs and creates legal information resources and marketing materials using CANVA
  • Administers project funds and assists with monitoring project budgets
  • Supports maintenance of METRAC’s websites, including ensuring files are uploaded, all resources and links are up-to-date and functional
  • Engages in internal committee processes to ensure integration of METRAC’s goals and cross-team partnerships 
  • Prepares progress reports on program/project activities, outputs and outcomes
  • Supervises non-legal students and volunteers
  • Assists with special METRAC events (including fundraising, AGM, volunteer training)
  • May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Travel flexibility is required
  • Other duties as required.

 Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of administrative experience in a non-profit or corporate setting
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent experience in legal studies, community development or other related field
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Justice System
  • Experience in building relationships with community members and organizations
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, databases, social media and website maintenance tools and software e.g., WordPress
  • Proficiency in budget planning and tracking
  • Experience in graphic design tools e.g., Canva
  • Experience in report writing
  • Experience in data collection and analysis
  • Excellent proof-reading skills
  • Excellent, interpersonal, written, verbal and inter-cultural communication skills
  • Detail oriented with project management, organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
