Program: Local Immigration Partnership (LIP)

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week)

About the Position:

The Coordinator is responsible for the operations of the Local Immigration Partnerships in Richmond and Tri-Cities.  This role engages a broad range of community service providers and leaders from various sectors within each community and facilitates the development, implementation and evaluation of a community action plan.  The Coordinator oversees all aspects of the LIP and ensures that contractual targets are met.

Reports to: Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives and Development

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engages with immigrant-serving and community agencies across different sectors to identify aligned community priorities that foster immigrant inclusion in the community
  • Collaborates with project partners and community agencies in developing and implementing a community action plan, which includes an evaluation framework to track annual progress
  • Works with LIP Council and Immigrant Advisory Table members in planning, developing and implementing program deliverables and outcomes
  • Develops and delivers the LIP communications plan in collaboration with the LIP Council and other S.U.C.C.E.S.S. departments
  • Facilitates LIP Council, Immigrant Advisory Table and working group meetings and updates work plans with actions from meeting minutes
  • Acts as the first point of contact for community agencies and partners
  • Engages with community partners to communicate action plan progress and to identify collaboration opportunities
  • Organizes and delivers community engagement activities, including dialogues and/or forums, to share promising practices and knowledge mobilization
  • Oversees financial aspects of the LIP
  • Reports on deliverables and outcomes to management and funders
  • Identifies and secures funding and/or collaboration opportunities to support the implementation of the community action plan
  • Performs other project-related duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives and Development

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related discipline
  • Experience in project coordination, preferably for immigrant communities
  • Experience in community engagement and development
  • Experience working in the immigration and settlement sector an asset
  • Experience working with diverse client population groups
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity and social inclusion best practices
  • Knowledge of resources for newcomers and immigrants

  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Valid driver's license and access to vehicle to travel to partner locations and between office sites
