Hours of Work: 40 hours per week; Days (Monday through Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; hours may change depending on the program and children’s needs.)
Compensation: $21.43 per hour, plus Government Approved Wage Enhancement for all hours worked directly with children to fully licensed ECE Staff. Plus, a generous leave, benefits and pension package.
Program & Location: the alex Early Care & Learning Centre – Coquitlam, BC
Union: BC Government Employee’s Union (BCGEU)- This position requires union membership

About the Job:
The Support Worker ECE provides assistance to a child who has been assessed as requiring additional support in order to equitably participate in daily programming, in a manner consistent with the child’s care plan, Atira Women’s Resource Society’s Mission, Vision, Values and feminist-based philosophy. This role maintains a strong working relationship with and awareness of parallel agencies and groups in the community, and has specific knowledge regarding available community resources, non-profit, government and private. Holds the confidentiality of the organization and its clients as sacrosanct and respects this confidentiality absolutely.

• You are aware of the expectations and requirements of Community Care Licensing.
• You work within the ECEBC Code of Ethics.

Additional Requisites/Assets:
• One (1) year recent related experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Early Childhood Educator Certificate & License to Practice are required
• A valid child oriented First Aid certificate is required
• Food Safe Certificate is required
