Job Summary:

Your Role:
Archway’s MAP Case Worker with the Moving Ahead Program (MAP) contributes by:
• Engaging in outreach to make connections with newly arrived and/or “hard to reach” immigrant and refugee families.
• Carrying out intake and assessment with clients and developing wraparound support plans for clients.
• Providing one-on-one counselling to clients.
• Organizing, facilitating, and preparing curriculum to deliver the Life Skills/ Topical Workshops according to client’s needs and requirements.
• Providing home outreach and visitation as needed.
• Assisting with addressing barriers to participation such as transportation, language, and/or literacy.
This position is a great fit for someone who has a strong understanding of intercultural family dynamics and has an ability to communicate with individuals who have low English levels.
Our Offer
• Wage: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
• A full-time position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Permanent.

Getting an Interview – you will be considered if you have:
• A degree in the Human Services field, OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience addressing settlement needs and issues of multi-barrier immigrants and refugees.
• Experience working with clients suffering emotional and mental health issues.
• Experience using case planning and case management principles and techniques.
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
• Proficiency in additional languages will be considered an asset.
• Currently residing in Canada and are eligible to work in Canada.
The Job Requires you to have:
• Strong written, verbal, and active listening skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with people with a variety of backgrounds and abilities.
• Understanding of intercultural family dynamics.
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
• Knowledge of other languages will be considered an asset.
• Ability to work with multicultural and diverse backgrounds.
• Access to a personal, reliable vehicle that can be insured for business insurance according to Archway’s transportation policy.
• Ability to drive the Agency van.
• A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
