The Finance Director builds and manages lightweight, agile, and transparent financial systems that foster a culture of joy and generosity across the Zoe Toronto community. As a servant leader, they are attentive and responsive to the needs of microchurch workers and produce financial solutions that are both rigorous and relational, upholding a reputation for fiscal excellence and accountability while offering customized relief and freedom to our faithful frontline workers.
Format QuickBooks reports into simple, clear summaries of the organization’s financial position for the Executive Director and Board.
Forecast revenues and expenditures for the annual budget
Create and maintain real-time account portals for staff and leaders
Compile annual financial reports for donors, the community, and the auditor
Review categorized transactions and ensure consistent financial records.
Initiate and organize payments for invoices, reimbursements, and disbursements to microchurches and mission affiliates.
Maintain and troubleshoot QBO integrations
Oversee bank and investment accounts
Process monthly payroll and weekly expense reimbursements
Complete annual filings with the CRA and issue employee tax documents
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; Certified ProAdvisor Online is a plus.
High-Level Proficiency in Google Sheets, both technically and aesthetically
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent planning and project management skills.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Asana.
Passionate about the gospel of Jesus, microchurch ministry, and serving marginalized communities

Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Primarily remote; on-site responsibilities in downtown Toronto 3x per year
Flexible hours, while maintaining a 24-hour response time during weekdays
Compensation: $20-25/hour
Contract ends April 30, 2026 (with the possibility of extension and a raise with strong performance)
We desire to fill this position by August 1, 2025
Weekly hours, compensation, and scope of responsibility will depend on the candidate's qualifications
