Position Summary: Elder Abuse Case Coordinator (Part-Time)
Location: Leduc and surrounding area
Hours: 15 hours/week (flexible, 2 days/week)

Riseup Society Alberta is seeking a compassionate, experienced professional to fill the role of Elder Abuse Case Coordinator. In this part-time position, you will provide direct support, advocacy, and service coordination for seniors experiencing—or at risk of—elder abuse. Working in collaboration with community partners, you’ll help ensure that vulnerable seniors receive the care, protection, and resources they need to live safely and with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
-Identify and build trusting relationships with seniors experiencing or at risk of elder abuse
-Provide advocacy, service coordination, and system navigation for clients facing complex social issues
-Support clients in developing individualized, client-centered service plans
-Build and maintain strong partnerships with community service providers
-Actively participate in local elder abuse coordinated community response meetings
-Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and client records
-Apply trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based practices in all interactions
-Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify service gaps and enhance access to supports
Education:
-degree in Social Work, Human Ecology, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or a related human services field
Experience:
-3–5 years’ experience supporting vulnerable seniors or individuals impacted by elder abuse, mental health, addictions, or related issues
-Demonstrated skills in advocacy, crisis response, and case management
Assets
-Training in trauma-informed care, psychological first aid, or substance use awareness
-Knowledge of elder abuse prevention and Alberta’s coordinated community response framework
-Strong skills in documentation, assessment, and communication
-Ability to work independently and respond effectively in crisis situations
-Familiarity with local senior-serving agencies and supports
-Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
-Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
