Youth Support Worker- Part Time Position (20 hours per week) - Richmond, BC
Promote inclusion by supporting school aged children and youth with developmental disabilities to achieve goals and explore possibilities through participation in community-based activities. With a focus on adventure, excitement, friendship, and fun.
YOUR IMPACT
• Provide direct support to children and youth with developmental disabilities, including those with mental health challenges, complex and/or challenging behavior or support needs.
• Initiate learning opportunities for social, creative, and recreational skill development and enthusiastically participate alongside the children and youth in activities.
• Support individuals to achieve goals based on their own choice, beliefs and desires.
• Establish respectful relationships which promote dignity, self-determination, and well-being.
• Provide meaningful feedback and information to parents/families regarding their child’s learning and development, interests and emerging skills.
YOUR CAPABILITIES
• Relevant post-secondary education in a related field and returning to school in fall 2025.
• Experience supporting children with developmental disabilities or working in a similar environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Clear, current Criminal Records Check
• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Effective people skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization.
• Reliable problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills.
