Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is the national policy, advocacy and promotional organization representing over 9,000 Canadian dairy farmers.

DFC strives to create stable conditions for the dairy sector in our country. It also seeks to maintain policies that promote the sustainability of Canadian dairy production and promote dairy products and their health benefits.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the primary representative of the organization to key internal and external stakeholders, including Board Members, provincial associations, and members across Canada. Working in close collaboration with the Board of Directors, the CEO provides strategic guidance, informed analysis, and clear recommendations to support effective decision-making.

The CEO is accountable for the development and execution of strategic and operational plans, achievement of financial and organizational goals, and overall business performance, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies.

A collaborative and transparent leader, the CEO fosters strong communication and teamwork across all levels of the organization, across a representative board governance model, with provincial Dairy organizations and plays a key role in shaping a positive and inclusive workplace/stakeholder culture - one that positions the company for long-term success and recognizes its people and stakeholders as its most valuable assets.

An inspiring and unifying presence, the ideal candidate brings a proven ability to align diverse stakeholders within a federated governance model. They are empathetic, approachable, and politically astute as well as being skilled at fostering constructive dialogue with producers, provincial boards, industry collaborators, and all levels of government. Bilingual in both official languages and engaging, they communicate with clarity and conviction across Canada’s regions, representing the voice of dairy producers with authenticity and strength.

Guided by a transformational mindset and a deep-rooted commitment to member service, the ideal candidate champions collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Their leadership empowers people, builds consensus, and galvanizes national unity, anchored by operational rigour and a strong moral compass.
