Organization: Long Point Biosphere Region

The Long Point Biosphere Region is a non-profit registered Canadian charity promoting research, monitoring, community outreach and education, partnerships, and special projects that support the goals of biodiversity, conservation and sustainable communities in Norfolk County. The Fund Development/Communications contractor will be responsible for managing Long Point Biosphere Region’s fundraising and communications efforts.

Fundraising

Execute the Biosphere’s fund development strategy in the following areas:

•        Increasing online charitable donations through direct appeals and campaigns using the Little Green Light platform

•        Evaluating opportunities for corporate sponsors for printed products or special events, creating sponsorship letters/materials and organizing personal contracts

•        Creating fund campaigns with specific themes/key messages to reach and motivate donors

•        Evaluating and planning opportunities for fundraising events, with emphasis on a newly produced documentary.

Communications

Implement and expand the Biosphere’s communication/marketing plan in the following areas:

•        Collaborating with board members and other contractors to develop and delegate activities, align key messages with audiences, and strategically schedule campaigns and products to ensure effectiveness and consistency across the organization

•        Creating and maintaining a monthly e-newsletter to better communicate with Biosphere members, donors, and other stakeholders

 

 

•        Develop professionally branded materials with strategic distribution: posters, flyers, presentations, QR code.

• Manage communications by writing, editing, designing, and scheduling content required for print and digital communications and publications

• Ensure all products and communication materials conform to brand identity

• Evaluate the success of various communication strategies and provide and implement recommendations for improvement

Contract Details

Approximate value: $40,000

Duration: September 1, 2025-March 31st 2026
