Weston Frontlines Centre (Frontlines) is seeking a Fundraising Consultant to help strengthen the organization’s fundraising capacity and develop a strategic fundraising and sustainability plan. The successful candidate will work with Frontlines to diversify revenue sources and build long-term financial sustainability to support our youth programs.

Frontlines currently relies on a mix of grants, donations, fundraising initiatives, and social enterprise income. To ensure long-term growth and financial stability, we are seeking a consultant to guide the development of a comprehensive fundraising and sustainability strategy.
II. Focus of Work
Our primary goal is to expand and diversify Weston Frontlines’ revenue streams, thereby reducing our dependence on a narrow funding base and laying the foundation for long-term financial strength. At the heart of this project is a bold vision: to deepen donor relationships,
attract a wider, mission-aligned community of supporters, and equip our team with the skills and confidence to secure transformational major gifts that will fuel our impact for years to come.
The consultant will:
● Assess existing fundraising efforts and revenue sources.
● Identify opportunities for individual giving, corporate sponsorships, community campaigns, and recurring donations.
● Develop a sustainability and fundraising plan that includes actionable campaign strategies, donor stewardship plans, and internal capacity-building recommendations.
● Support knowledge transfer to ensure Frontlines staff and board members are prepared to implement and maintain the plan.
III. Scope of Work
1. Fundraising & Sustainability Strategy
a. The consultant will develop a comprehensive fundraising and sustainability strategy to diversify Frontlines’ revenue streams, reduce reliance on limited funding sources, and establish a strong foundation for long-term financial growth.
b. Key Activities:
● Assess current revenue streams, fundraising initiatives, and grant
performance to identify strengths, gaps, and growth opportunities.
● Research and identify new funding opportunities, including government grants, foundations, corporate sponsors, and social enterprise expansion. ● Provide grant writing support, including prospect research, proposal development, and the creation of a grants calendar to guide future
applications.
● Develop a multi-year sustainability plan with actionable
recommendations to stabilize and grow revenue.
c. Deliverables:
● A comprehensive fundraising and sustainability plan with clear strategies and timelines.
● A grant prospect list and grant application templates for future use.
● Strategic recommendations for multi-year funding and diversified
revenue streams.
● Creating compelling pitches and assisting with building a narrative for a new case for support.
2. Donor Engagement & Acquisition
a. The consultant will create and guide the implementation of a donor
engagement and acquisition strategy to attract new supporters and strengthen relationships with existing donors.
b. Key Activities:
● Segment donor audiences and create a targeted acquisition plan to grow individual, corporate, and foundation support.
● Develop multi-channel outreach strategies, including email, social media, events, and peer-to-peer campaigns.
● Create a compelling case for support and donor-facing materials,
including thank-you templates, solicitation scripts, and stewardship
communications.
● Support major gift prospecting and cultivation, including identification of high-potential donors and coaching for staff and board in solicitation and stewardship.
● Recommend strategies for long-term donor retention and recurring
giving opportunities..
c. Deliverables:
● A donor engagement and acquisition campaign plan with timelines and actionable recommendations.
● Donor communication and stewardship toolkit, including messaging templates and solicitation materials.
● A major donor prospect list and guidance for staff and board to
successfully cultivate and secure transformational gifts.
IV. Required Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate:
● Experience in nonprofit fundraising, strategy, and campaign design
● Proven ability to develop actionable sustainability/fundraising plans
● Experience training and coaching staff/boards for campaign readiness
● Strong knowledge of donor engagement, stewardship, and prospecting
● Familiarity with fundraising tools, CRMs (Keela), and digital engagement strategies
● Experience in youth-serving or community-based organizations
