Summary of Travel Trade Manager role:

Bring your creativity, strategic mindset, and passion for partnerships to the role of Travel Trade Manager with DGV. This position calls for someone who can hit the ground running, leading our Travel Trade program with a focus on innovation, commercial growth, and strong industry relationships. You will champion business-to-business initiatives across retail trade, co-ops, and cruise, while building meaningful connections with traditional tour operators and travel agents. From negotiating impactful partnerships and executing high-value sales strategies to representing Greater Victoria at tradeshows and industry events, you’ll play a key role in positioning our destination for long-term success. This is an opportunity for a results-driven professional with deep knowledge of the tourism and hospitality landscape to shape how Greater Victoria is discovered, experienced, and celebrated around the world.

This position is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work in-office at least three times per week, requiring the successful candidate to be located in the Greater Victoria region. It is a full-time 35/hrs a week 14-month contract role with a salary between $68,000-$72,000. 

What you need to bring:

  • Degree in Business, Marketing or Tourism preferred.
  • Five or more years of senior level experience in Tourism and Travel Trade.
  • Five or more years of experience in the travel industry with sales expertise in tourism, hospitality. An understanding of travel trade is key in this role.
  • Entrepreneurial, creative, energetic, self-motivated, and results oriented.
  • Proactive, solutions focused, able to work collaboratively with the team to deliver results.
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Superb writing, content development and editing skills.
  • A strong knowledge of all our key markets including demographic, psychographic statistics and trends.
  • A strong commercial orientation with a deep understanding of the sales process in the leisure travel distribution network.
