The Jane/Finch Community and Family Centre is seeking a skilled part-time grant writer to support our organization on an ongoing, contract basis. This role is critical to securing funding for programs and initiatives that benefit the Jane-Finch community, such as youth mentorship, food security, and newcomer support.

This role involves case-by-case grant writing and requires a commitment of approximately 10 hours per month.

Details:

• Schedule: Part-time, approximately 10 hours per month.

• Arrangement: Flexible, remote-friendly arrangement. The contract is designed to be ongoing, with an initial 12-month contract period, renewable based on performance and funding needs.

• Location: While primarily remote, this role requires occasional in-office presence (approximately once per quarter) for planning meetings and key stakeholder collaborations. The organization is located in Toronto, Ontario.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience writing successful grants for non-profits or community organizations.

• Familiarity with local, foundation, provincial, and federal funding sources.

• Knowledge of the Jane-Finch/Black Creek community.

Skills:

• Strong research, writing, and editing abilities.

• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.

• Attention to detail and skill in tailoring proposals to funder priorities.

• Extensive knowledge of grant writing and funding ecosystems.

• Experience developing budgets and preparing cost justifications for proposals.

• Ability to identify and research new funding opportunities.

• Knowledge of reporting and compliance requirements for funders.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with program staff and stakeholders.

• Adaptability to write for diverse funders with varying requirements and styles.
