About the Opportunity
The Gastown Hastings Crossing Community Policing Centre (GHXCPC) is a newly established, grassroots, non-profit organization committed to fostering safe, inclusive, and connected communities through volunteer engagement and community safety programming.
Serving as an engaging hub for community safety initiatives in the Gastown and Hastings Crossing areas, GHXCPC is a registered non-profit society governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our operations are coordinated with residents, the Vancouver Police Department, and community organizations to address safety concerns, promote crime prevention, and build connection across diverse populations.
We are currently seeking a visionary and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of GHXCPC, working closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational goals and priorities. They will be responsible for managing the organization’s budgeting, financial reporting, and funding strategies to ensure long-term sustainability. In addition, the Executive Director will represent GHXCPC in media engagements, public forums, and stakeholder meetings, while cultivating inclusive relationships and partnerships across diverse community groups.
This role requires a leader who can empower and support staff and volunteers with a focus on accountability, equity, and collaboration. The Executive Director will also ensure the organization remains compliant with all legal, regulatory, and funding requirements.
Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience in leading a small non-profit organization, including supporting board governance, engaging stakeholders, managing budgets and financials, and communicating effectively with diverse audiences and media. Familiarity with community safety, crime prevention, or related fields will be considered an asset.

Compensation: Salary range is $80,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits package and vacation leave provided.

Reports to: Board of Directors
Objective: To direct the daily operations of the Gastown Hastings Crossing Community Policing Centre (GHXCPC) and lead the fulfillment of its mission.
Position Description: The Executive Director is responsible for the overall day-to-day management and leadership of the Community Policing Centre Society. This role involves supporting the Board of Directors in their governance of the society, as well as a range of executive leadership responsibilities, including strategic planning, community engagement, program development, and operational oversight to ensure the organization's mission and goals are achieved. The Executive Director reports to and works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to promote safety, build trust, and enhance the quality of life in the community.
