Role Overview

The Manager, Web Experience ensures Diabetes Canada’s (DC) websites: diabetes.ca and guidelines.diabetes.ca are accessible, stable, and aligned with DC’s mission and business goals. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing web operations ensuring accessibility compliance, managing content updates, and overseeing vendor relationships. The role also defines web strategies that drive fundraising, mission delivery, and brand campaigns.  

The role includes managing one direct report and using data insights to recommend improvements that enhance user experience and engagement.  

Contract Duration: This job posting is for a 13-month contract, to cover a role on parental leave.

Location: Diabetes Canada’s national office is at 1000–170 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. We offer a flexible work arrangement, allowing employees to work remotely while occasionally coming into the office as required by their manager or the organization.

This role includes, but not limited to: 

Website Management & Optimization 

  • Oversee daily operations of diabetes.ca and guidelines.diabetes.ca, ensuring quality, stability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Manage our developer agency partner: prioritize tickets, assign projects, monitor QA, and manage the annual maintenance budget. 
  • Collaborate with the Healthcare Professional (HCP) team to plan and deploy chapter and tool updates for guidelines.diabetes.ca 
  • Coordinate routine updates and site clean up in preparation for redesign and migration; assign tickets to staff or vendors and ensure QA before publishing.  

Accessibility & Compliance 

  • Lead AODA audits and coordinate fixes with HR, IT, and external auditors. 
  • Track, document, and report accessibility progress to meet provincial compliance requirements.  

Strategy & Reporting 

  • Partner with internal teams to shape web strategies that supports campaigns and organizational goals. 
  • Provide monthly insights and recommendations for organizational reports. 
  • Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for engagement and conversion improvements. 

Redesign Support & Leadership 

  • Contribute to the diabetes.ca redesign project, ensuring alignment between current operations and future planning. 
  • Manage and coach one direct report (Digital Marketing Coordinator) and foster cross-team collaboration for seamless digital experiences. 

The ideal candidate possesses: 

  • 5–7 years managing large-scale, content-driven websites in a complex environment. 
  • Strong understanding of AODA/WCAG, CMS management, SEO, UX/UI, and analytics. 
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and operational budgets. 
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, HotJar and CMS platforms (Kentico).  
  • Strong project and time-management skills. 
  • Analytical thinker who uses data to guide decisions. 
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and highly organized. 
  • Excellent communicator who can translate technical needs for non-technical teams. 
  • Passionate about accessibility, user experience, and continuous improvement. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with Asana (project management application) is an asset.
