Starting Salary $70,000-$85,000 per year

 

The Fort Saskatchewan Food Gatherers Society is a registered charity which operates the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank, Regular Hamper Program, Shopping Day Program, Christmas Hamper & Toy ProgramSchool Support Program, and other programs and services from the Fort Saskatchewan Nourishment Centre location. The Society provides assistance to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

 

Under the authority and guidance of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director works within the vision, mission, policies and procedures of the Society. The Executive Director provides exceptional management of operations, administration, strategic and financial plans, budget, assets, human resources, and community engagement. The Executive Director position is a full-time on-site position.

 

The Board of Directors is seeking an individual who is committed to the Fort Saskatchewan community and is passionate about addressing food insecurity. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a mindset of proactive strategic thinking, a focus on positive interpersonal relationships, the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and delegate effectively for optimal day-to-day operation of the Society.

Education:

•       Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Social Sciences or equivalent

•       Proven success in a leadership role

•       Proven management skills-administration, financial and human resources

•       Proven ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities

•       Experience with fund development

•       Experience in not-for-profit organizations, social sector or food bank industry is an asset

•       Experience in strategic and operational planning preferred

•       Progressive knowledge of technology

•       Exceptional communication, interpersonal & soft skills  

•       Strong time management skills

•       Proven ability to take initiative, problem solve and work independently

 

Additional Requirements

•       Must hold a valid Alberta driver (Operators) license – Class 5

•       Must hold current Standard First Aid, CPR + AED (will be required)

•       Trauma informed practice knowledge

•       Must hold and maintain a clean Criminal & Vulnerable Sector Record Check

•       Minimal travel required (eg. conferences, area food banks)

•       Flexible work schedule is needed, including some required evenings and weekends        

        (eg. Board Meetings and Society related Events)
