The Role

We are seeking an HR & Administration Manager to lead and oversee our human resources and administrative department. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role provides both strategic and hands-on HR leadership while overseeing the HR, administrative, and facility functions, including supervision of assigned team members.

This role also supports volunteer coordination and contributes to strategic planningand organizational development, helping shape CPAA’s inclusive and mission-driven workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and employee recognition.
  • Manage employee relations, benefits, payroll changes, and compliance.
  • Lead policy development, HRIS systems, and health & safety initiatives.
  • Supervise an administrative team.

Manage and support the HR and administrative functions, including supervision of relevant team members as assigned.

  • Oversee daily office administration, contracts, leases, and vendor relations.
  • Support organizational events, retreats, and gatherings.
  • Support the volunteer program across the organization.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and organizational development.

What We’re Looking For

  • Diploma/degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR/administration experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Alberta employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative, people-first approach and passion for nonprofit work.
  • Experience with volunteer coordination and facility operations is an asset.
