Job Summary: The Donor Relations Coordinator is a key member of the Hope Mission team, responsible for cultivating meaningful and lasting relationships with donors through excellent stewardship, clear communication, and Christ-centered engagement. This role ensures donors feel valued, informed, and connected to the impact of their generosity.

The Donor Relations Coordinator manages donor records, supports fundraising initiatives, coordinates donor engagement activities, and plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Hope Mission—bringing hope through meals, care, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The ideal candidate is highly relational, organized, self-motivated, and passionate about ministry.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship and Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors through timely thank-you letters, phone calls, and personalized communication.
  • Coordinate regular donor touchpoints, including newsletters, prayer updates, impact stories, and donor tours.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure major donors and recurring givers receive intentional, thoughtful engagement.
  • Respond to donor inquiries in a professional, warm, and faith-filled manner.

Database and Gift Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the donor database.
  • Process and track gifts, ensuring proper documentation and acknowledgements.
  • Run donor reports and assist with donor segmentation and analysis.
  • Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy standards.

Fundraising Support

  • Support the planning and execution of donor events (e.g., appreciation dinners, prayer breakfasts, tours).
  • Assist with fundraising appeals (digital and print).
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling donor-facing materials.
  • Track campaign progress and assist in evaluating fundraising effectiveness.

Spiritual and Ministry Responsibilities

  • Uphold and represent the Christian mission and values of Hope Mission in all interactions.
  • Pray regularly for donors, supporters, and ministry partners.
  • Participate in staff devotions, prayer meetings, and ministry events as appropriate.
  • On occasion, speak about Hope Mission at various churches on Sunday mornings.

Required Qualifications:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission and values of Hope Mission.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly relational with a heart for people.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit administration.
  • Experience with donor databases and CRM systems.
  • Experience with event planning and donor engagement strategies.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Other Requirements:

  • Being a non-denominational Christian Organization, we require our employees to be in agreement with and sign the Hope Mission Statement of Faith.
  • Cover letter stating why you would like to work in a Christian organization.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
  • Able to provide Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check
  • A letter of reference from a ministry or church is an asset
  • Adherence to Hope Mission’s Policies and Procedures.
