Who You Are: You are a "people person" through and through. You’re the one who anticipates the needs of your team and stays patient and kind even when the weather isn't perfect. We ar​e seeking Camp Coordinators that have, ideally, previously led other camps and staff.

A Natural Leader: You have experience mentoring staff and volunteers. We are looking​ for a calm, col​l​a​​b​o​r​a​t​i​v​e​, patient, and respectful​​ leader.

Safety-First: You’re a pro at managing groups near water (lakes and pools), and ensuring ​everyone's safety, ​wellness, and engagement.

Community Builder: You thrive on building positive relationships with parents, kids, youth, staff, volunteers, and the ​com​mun​ity​​​​.

Resourceful: You have a "toolbox" full of games and activities ready to go.



The Essentials (prerequisites):

Elementary School Teacher OR at least 1,000+ hours leading large groups of children professionally.

Current Police Information Check & First Aid Certification.

Teacher, Lifeguard, ECE, or EA certifications are a major asset!

As this job is partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs, staff need to be between 18-30 years old and Canadian citizens, Permanent residents, or Protected Persons.



What Your Days Will Look Like:

Lead the Adventure: Collaboratively lead games and activities at beautiful spots like White Pine Beach and Coquitlam River. 

Navigate the Day: Manage logistics, ensure safety around water, and de-escalate challenges with a calm, respectful approach.

Col​labo​r​a​te with the Assistant Camp Coordinator and Camp Director along with Adm​in, C​a​mp ​Leaders, and Volunt​eers.

Train​ an​d mentor staff and​ volunteers​.

The posit​io​n will be ou​tdoors, l​eading one of our camps​. It is suited for someone with extensive e​x​perience and train​ing who will ac​t​​ as ​a​ ​l​e​a​d​​ ​g​u​i​d​e at one of our camps. 

Locations: 

Out-trips at our Tri-C​​​ities Camps include White Pine Beach, the Coquitlam River, Spani Pool, Eagle Ridge Pool, Centennial Pool, Crash Crawly's (if there's heavy rain or wildfire smoke), and more. We meet at (or near) the out-tri​p of the day.

 

Schedule: Full-time March 16–27, 2026. (Option to continue June 26–Sept. 4 for eligible CSJ candidates.)
