Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts

Job Summary:

The Data Analyst plays a key role in strengthening our organization’s data culture and decision-making. Reporting to the Senior Director, this role is responsible for analyzing, organizing, and improving data systems to support program evaluation, continuous improvement, and strategic planning.

Working closely with Program Directors and in collaboration with an existing data contractor, the Data Analyst will help translate data into meaningful insights about what is working well, what is not, and where data suggests opportunities for improvement or innovation.

This position blends hands-on data analysis with system development, data quality improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze program and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Support program evaluation efforts by assessing outcomes, effectiveness, and impact.
  • Work with Program Directors to answer key questions using data and to inform program design and improvement.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and summaries that translate data into clear, actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and maturity of the organization’s data program.
  • Help define data standards, metrics, and reporting frameworks across programs.
  • Identify gaps in existing data and recommend improvements to data collection and usage.
  • Organize, clean, and maintain datasets to improve accuracy, consistency, and usability.
  • Work within existing systems to improve the quantity and quality of data being captured.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve data entry processes and data literacy.
  • Support system enhancements or integrations related to data collection and reporting.
  • Work in close partnership with Program Directors to align data efforts with program goals.
  • Collaborate with an external data contractor on shared projects, analysis, and system

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with data analysis, reporting, and data management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Experience organizing, cleaning, and maintaining datasets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with non-technical staff and translate program needs into data solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Able to connect data insights to real-world program decisions.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Mission-aligned and motivated by using data to improve outcomes for people and communities.

Assets

  • Experience working with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
  • Experience evaluating programs using data, particularly in a nonprofit or social services context.
  • Familiarity with improving data systems, processes, or data collection practices.
