Job Summary:
The Gap Year Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of CTI’s gap year discipleship program through effective planning and scheduling, as well as maintaining clear and professional communication with students, managers, lecture facilitators, and other stakeholders. The Gap Year Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for students throughout the program, providing support, biblically informed guidance, and prayer as they progress through the gap year experience. In collaboration with the CTI Senior Manager, the Coordinator contributes to the ongoing development, evaluation, and improvement of the quality and effectiveness of the gap year program.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the CTI Gap Year discipleship program, ensuring the program functions smoothly across classroom and field placement components.
- Plan, maintain, and communicate program schedules, calendars, and logistics, including integration of field placements within Hope Mission ministries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for gap year students, providing ongoing support, biblically informed guidance, and prayer throughout the program.
- Coordinate field placements in Hope Mission ministries by:
o Communicating the purpose and expectations of the CTI Gap Year program to program managers and coordinators.
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with students, Hope Mission program managers, trainers, lecture facilitators, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor student engagement and performance in field placements and program activities, addressing concerns and escalating issues to the CTI Senior Manager when appropriate.
- Support a healthy, formative, and professional learning environment for students within both classroom and field placement contexts.
- Facilitate regular field placement reflection discussions and devotional times, supporting students in processing their ministry experiences in light of Scripture and their own growth and discipleship journey.
- Administer the student application process, including receiving and reviewing applications, coordinating interviews when required, maintaining communication with applicants throughout the process, and making admissions recommendations in collaboration with the CTI Senior Manager.
- Collaborate with the CTI Senior Manager in the evaluation of the gap year program, including gathering feedback from students and program managers/coordinators.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of program structure, placement processes, and overall student experience.
- Any other duties as outlined by the Senior Manager.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in program coordination, administration, or operations within a ministry, nonprofit, educational, or human-services context.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage schedules, logistics, and multiple concurrent responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to provide biblically informed guidance, prayer, and support to students within appropriate role boundaries.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational environments and coordinate across multiple departments or ministries.
- Strong judgment and discretion, particularly in situations involving student well-being, boundaries, and placement-related concerns.
- The below Qualifications and Skills are considered a major asset:
- Experience working with young adults in formative, mentoring, or discipleship contexts.
- Post-secondary education in biblical studies, theology, ministry, education, social sciences, or a related field.
- Experience working in inner-city, outreach, or social-service ministry contexts.
- Training in pastoral care, spiritual formation, or mentoring (formal or informal).
