About the Opportunity:

As an Accounting Services Office Assistant at CLBC, you will provide a variety of general administrative assistance in the office.

Tasks include:

  • Covering the Accounting Services Help Desk by monitoring phone calls and emails from service providers and staff
  • Utilizing the accounting system to research payments, vendor and contract information to respond to inquiries
  • Escalating issues to the Accounting Services staff
  • Logging documents received via mail; sorting contracts and invoices.
  • Supporting the Accounts Payable team:
    • Printing checklists for entry of invoices; preparing invoice batches for entry to assist with year-end activities
    • Reviewing Accounts Payable checklists for accuracy and matching amounts in the AP system for entry of invoices into the next fiscal year.
  • Performing general word processing and typing tasks
  • Monitoring and ordering office supplies
  • Filing accounting documents

What you will bring:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an office environment;
  • The ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM;
  • Solid experience with the MS Office Suite: primarily MS Word, MS Excel;
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable is preferred.
