The Director of Community Services position is a full time (37.5 hours per week) working Monday to Friday out of our beautiful Delta location. The position offers a competitive salary based on experience ($87,000-$102,000), extended health benefits, 4 weeks vacation, professional development opportunities, and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan. (Note: MPP has the option of being transferrable if the successful candidate is already registered in the plan)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our Community Services portfolio, ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets the unique needs of those we serve. This role combines strategic and on-the-ground leadership with operational management and staff oversight. You'll drive innovation and growth, mentor a dedicated team of professionals, and ensure alignment with society policies, accreditation standards, and industry best practices. Working closely with the leadership team, the Director of Community Services refines program quality, strengthens team cohesion, and fosters a healthy, relational, and community-focused culture among staff and programs. YOUR CAPABILITIES

As the ideal candidate for this position, you are a result oriented, self-motivated and dynamic leader with direct experience in managing multiple director reports in community inclusion and employment services for youth and adults with developmental disabilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Human Services, Social Work, or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5 years senior management experience in a Not-for profit Environment;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience managing in a unionized environment;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience leading multiple community inclusion and employment services programs demonstrating progressive program management accountability;
  • Ability to build and effective team, manage personnel and performance issues in an effective and progressive manner while maintaining sensitivity to people from diverse cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Strong planning and program development skills, with demonstrated experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be able to communicate with a variety of interest holders;
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in leveraging MS Outlook and MS Excel;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships and exercise tact, diplomacy, and good judgement when dealing with a broad range of audiences;
  • Detail-oriented with strong ability to analyze and summarize data and problem-solving abilities;
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
