The Opportunity

The Manager, Youth Programs (STEM Leaders: Elevate & Empower program) is a collaborative and detail-oriented role responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, experiential STEM programming for youth in grades 6-8 (Elevate program) and 9-10 (Empower program).

  • The STEM Leaders: Elevate program (Grades 6-8) supports and introduces youth as they explore STEM, dProgramming centres on curiosity, belonging and foundational skills development, helping youth see themselves as capable STEM learners and leaders.  

  • The STEM Leaders: Empower program (Grades 9-10) ensures continuity of support and strengthens leadership, confidence and STEM identity in early high-school youth through experiential learning, mentorship and ongoing academic support.  Youth explore career pathways, apply foundational STEM skills, and build social-emotional and academic readiness required to thrive in high school and beyond.  

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Youth Programs, the Manager oversees planning and delivery for both Elevate and Empower programs, supervises a team of facilitators and coordinators, manages logistics, and maintains strong relationships with partners, caregivers, and youth. This is a hands-on role with an emphasis on consistent, high-quality experiences that align with organizational priorities and long-term outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Delivery

  • Lead the planning, design, standardization, and execution of Elevate and Empower  programming (Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-10), including workshops, field trips, seasonal gathering, career panels, job shadowing and other initiatives, ensuring quality, consistency, and measurable outcomes across cohorts.

  • Lead the planning, design, standardization, and execution of STEM workshops, career exposure, academic readiness and personal development opportunities that prepare youth for long-term STEM Success.

  • Design and continuously improve curriculum and experiential learning frameworks that advance STEM exposure, academic readiness, leadership development, and long-term high-school and postsecondary success.

  • Develop adaptable yet standardized curriculum models that meet the distinct developmental needs of middle school and early high school students while maintaining program integrity and scalability.

  • Refine program infrastructure and playbooks that allow for growth and replication across cohorts, sites, and partnerships.

Team Support & Facilitation

  • Directly manage and develop facilitators and coordinators, setting clear performance expectations, delivering ongoing coaching, and ensuring excellence in program facilitation.

  • Lead staff training, and development to build facilitation capacity, youth-centered practice, and operational excellence. Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to teams.

  • Cultivate a high-performance, inclusive team culture grounded in accountability, equity, and continuous improvement.

  • Establish clear facilitation standards, program quality benchmarks, and feedback loops to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.

Partnerships, Caregiver and Youth Engagement

  • Strategically develop and steward youth, partners, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to skill development, job shadowing, and career exposure opportunities aligned with program outcomes.

  • Implement structured caregiver engagement strategies, including regular communications, progress updates, program outcomes and milestone celebrations.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to expand learning opportunities, cultivate leadership, apply foundational STEM skills, strengthen social-emotional and academic readiness, and deepen long-term engagement with youth participants.

Program Administration & Monitoring

  • Own program data integrity within Salesforce (CRM), ensuring accurate attendance, internship placements, engagement tracking, and outcome reporting.

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze program and learning outcomes (e.g.,STEM awareness, knowledge and engagement metrics), and use data to inform strategic improvements.

  • Lead planning and execution of flagship events including showcases, summits, and networking experiences with strong operational oversight.

  • Manage program budgets, forecast expenses, and ensure responsible resource allocation in collaboration with Operations and Finance.

  • Implement structured feedback systems (surveys, focus groups, youth program & progress tracking) to drive continuous program refinement and readiness for scale.

  • Build and standardize program systems, documentation, and workflows to support organizational growth and scalability.

What We’re Looking For

 

Education & Training

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., education, youth development, STEM, career development, community work) or equivalent experience.

  • Ongoing commitment to professional development.

 

Required Experience & Expertise

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in youth programming, education, or experiential learning environments, including direct management responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated experience building and managing mentorship, internship, or work-integrated learning programs at scale.

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability.

  • Strong systems orientation, including proficiency in Salesforce (CRM), data tracking, reporting, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and project management platforms (e.g., Asana).

  • Experience building program infrastructure, developing curriculum, and implementing standardized processes.

  • Strategic Partnership Development: Ability to build, formalize, and steward long-term partnerships that generate tangible opportunities for youth and alumni.

  • Equity-Driven Approach: Commitment to creating inclusive, accessible environments for underrepresented communities.

  • Executive-Level Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills across youth, families, staff, senior leadership, and external partners.

  • Data & Systems Leadership: High fluency in Salesforce (CRM), monitoring & evaluation frameworks, KPI development, and data-informed decision-making.

  • Strategic Adaptability & Initiative: Ability to anticipate growth needs, proactively improve systems, and drive innovation within evolving program environments.

Preferred

  • Experience working with underserved or equity-deserving communities

  • STEM, youth development, or work-integrated learning experience.

  • Familiarity with local youth-serving organizations, school systems, and postsecondary pathways.

  • Salesforce or CRM experience.
