About VYPER
VYPER (Visionary Youth Peers for Equity & Revitalization) is an Indigenous youth-led
initiative based in the Fraser Valley, BC. Since 2021, we’ve hosted 300+ culture nights and
reached over 50,000 people through pow wows, youth cohorts, land-based learning, and
storytelling. Our mission: help Indigenous youth reconnect with culture, reclaim leadership, and
spark systems change.
Through the Resurgence in Motion (RIM) framework, VYPER partners with schools, child
welfare agencies, and community organizations to strengthen protective factors for Indigenous
youth, including belonging, cultural identity, leadership development, and institutional cultural
safety.
Phase 3 of the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Mental Health Promotion Innovation Fund
supports provincial and interprovincial scaling of this work.
Resurgence Mediaworks serves as the digital storytelling and knowledge mobilization stream of
VYPER.
Position Overview
The Resurgence Mediaworks Coordinator leads digital storytelling, content production, and
knowledge mobilization efforts that support institutional adoption and scaling of the Resurgence
in Motion (RIM) framework.
This role translates youth experiences, evaluation findings, and implementation learnings into
accessible, culturally grounded digital resources that support cross-sector learning and systems
change.
The position is based in Abbotsford, BC, with a hybrid model (office + remote). Provincial travel
and occasional interprovincial travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Media Strategy and Content Development
• Develop and implement a multi-year Mediaworks strategy aligned with Phase 3 scaling
goals
• Produce and manage recurring digital series focused on RIM education, youth leadership,
and institutional integration
• Maintain and grow VYPER’s digital platforms (video, social media, and web-based
content)
• Ensure all content aligns with accessibility standards and SGBA+ integrationProvide
coaching and support to partner institutions embedding RIM practices
Youth-Led Storytelling & Capacity Building
• Facilitate youth participation in digital storytelling and content creation
• Mentor youth contributors in ethical storytelling, digital literacy, and media production
• Uphold cultural protocols and relational accountability in all media activities
Knowledge Mobilization & Evaluation Translation
• Translate evaluation findings, health equity insights, and youth reflections into accessible
digital formats
• Develop digital toolkits, instructional modules, and short-form learning materials
• Support dissemination of resources through provincial and national networks, including
KDE Hub
• Contribute to annual Knowledge Development and Exchange showcases
Production & Documentation
• Film, edit, and produce short-form and long-form digital content
• Document constellation gatherings, trainings, and institutional partnerships
• Develop structured content calendars and publishing schedules
• Track digital engagement and knowledge uptake metrics
Governance & Ethical Practice
• Ensure youth participation in media activities adheres to REB and Indigenous community
ethics standards
• Uphold OCAP® principles and culturally grounded consent practices
• Collaborate with Elders and leadership to ensure cultural integrity
Sustainability & Resource Development
• Contribute to funding proposals and sustainability planning
• Support development of long-term digital infrastructure for program continuity
Qualifications
• 3–5 years experience in digital media production, communications, or knowledge mobilization
• Strong video production, editing, and content development skills
• Experience managing digital platforms and engagement strategies
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive communications
• Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging content
• Experience working with youth and/or Indigenous communities an asset
• Knowledge of evaluation translation or public health communications an asset
Lived experience of Indigeneity and experience working within Indigenous communities and
Indigenous-led organizations are an asset.

Compensation & Benefits
• $29 per hour
• 20 hours per week

This is a part-time position funded through March 2029 with the possibility of extension.
