Trainer (Part-time): Reporting to the General Manager, Thunder Bay, the Part-time Trainer will administer various training programs offered by NORCAT.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the delivery of health and safety programs. Courses include but are not limited to:
    1. Heavy Equipment Operation
    2. Working at Heights
    3. Surface Miner Common Core
    4. Train the Trainer
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of current and new training material
  • Other duties as required.

Required Experience, Qualifications:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment in either surface, underground mining, forestry, construction and/or industrial operations.
  • Strong leadership, multi-tasking and communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Travel within Ontario is required.

 Assets (Preferred but not required):

  • Certificate in a ‘Train the Trainer’ program.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and internationally.
  • Experience in facilitation/training in adult education.
  • Bilingualism.
