JOB OVERVIEW

As the Interim Manager of Employee Health and Well-Being, you will join a team dedicated to strengthening Bethesda’s workplace health, safety, and employee wellness initiatives. You will help ensure that organizational strategies align with health and safety requirements while fostering a culture where employee well-being is valued and supported.

This is a full-time interim position (40 hours per week), for a term of up to 22 months. The anticipated start date is May 19, 2026. It is ideal for a well-organized professional who is motivated to lead initiatives that promote a safe, engaged, and supportive workplace.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

•         Competitive salary: $77,272 – $83,720

•         Hiring bonus: $100 at time of hire and $200 after one year of continuous employment and completion of job requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

•         Lead Bethesda’s occupational health and safety (OHS) program, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining policies, procedures, and documentation

•         Chair the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and support ongoing safety initiatives

•         Ensure effective data collection, reporting, and monitoring of OHS program requirements

•         Coordinate and support occupational health and safety training, monitoring completion and follow-up

•         Lead Certificate of Recognition (COR) audit preparation, including internal audits and liaison with external auditors

•         Track and support implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions

•         Provide administrative and supervisory support for disability management and return-to-work processes

•         Review employee incidents and provide follow-up support, including consultation and investigation assistance

•         Provide oversight and administrative support for employee benefits programs

•         Develop and support staff recognition, engagement, and employee well-being initiatives

•         Provide consultation, training, and support to managers regarding OHS requirements, employee incidents, investigations, and return-to-work processes

QUALIFICATIONS

•         A willingness to support the mission of Bethesda to people with diverse abilities

•         Related education and/or experience in occupational health and safety, HR management, disability management, benefits administration, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance

•         Post-secondary education preferred

•         Proven leadership experience preferred

•         CPHR designation and/or relevant HR training or experience considered is preferred

•         Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high level of personal integrity, initiative, and maturity

•         Attention to detail and ability to work with data and finances

•         Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to teach or train staff

•         Cultural awareness and ability to support positive working relationships

•         Standard requirements (criminal record check, medical clearance, and ICBC driving record)

•         Personal values in line with Bethesda’s Christian foundations and Guiding Principles
